Madeleine Shaw is an emerging Sydney-based artist who revels in the challenge that landscape painting presents. She is inspired by a number of painters including Andrew Wyeth, John S. Sargent, Tom Roberts and her mentor Guy Troughton.

For Madeleine, landscapes have always been a constant source of inspiration; from wind-ravaged coastal cliff edges to the ethereal cloud cover above, gone within a single breath. She spends as much time exploring as possible.

After graduating from The National Art School in 2013, Madeleine has continued to develop her arts practice by attending classes at Julian Ashton Art School and travelling across the country, recording intriguing sites she comes across.

She can often be found wandering through various coastal tracks around her hometown of Manly, appreciating the natural history and changing patterns of each season.
